VCR Alleycat race

This was the first Alleycat race organized by the 'Vince Chill Ride' people in LA. It was a dope race, 5 checkpoints around Venice. Steel horse represented. Our boy Tom took 7th. Big ups to the organizers.

C.R.A.N.K. MOB - August 2008

I did the crank mob again last Saturday. Street party on bikes...(300+ of um). This monthly ride happens on the west side of LA and is quite possibly the sickest ride I've ever been on. The vibe is soooooo chill, the weather perfect, and the alcohol plentiful. Huge mass of riders go from parking lot to park drinking and parting for like 5 hours. Tall bike jousting, dancing, music, drinking, and riding. Some of the better things in life. This weekend we had a guest from SF, Dean Machine, the KHS soldier. If you ever come to LA, check to see if the crank mob is happening, this is a ride you don't wanna miss...

Thats it till next month's crank mob... Tom and I aren't shaving our faces till then.

This was a dope art show by students at the Pasedena art school. The only bike related jams in the whole spot. On point. Enjoy.

VCR ride LA 8/12/08

The Venice Chill Ride (VCR) went down last night. The rides out here in Los Angeles are on a whole other level. LA's got a strong bike culture with a solid community and thats surprising knowing that LA has such a huge car culture... We smashed from Venice beach to LAX airport, to Huntington Beach, and back to Venice. Riding in the terminals was sick. If you weren't there, you missed out. Here's some flicks...

(The iPhone takes wack flicks at night and there's no video camera on it. Weak...)

Manifesto!

This past weekend I got a chance to visit Manifesto in Oakland. Sam and Mackay, owners of the shop were kind enough to show me around the shop and explained their weekly Bike Church event, which s a Sunday Morning get together with fellow cyclist, coffee and great conversation. These guys are doing a great thing, Sam recently quit his "day job" to spend most of his time in the shop, which I think is a great thing. Support these guys, get to know them.
